I went to Daemyung Resort Sol Beach in Samcheok, Gangwon Province with my family on this holiday. It is very popular here, so it is difficult for people with resort membership to make reservations. I tried to make reservations several times but failed, but I made a reservation in two years. From now on I would like to write down the fact that I went directly to see why the resort is so popular here.
1. Building which seemed to have carried Greece Santorini as it is
When you arrive at the entrance of the resort, you can see buildings in blue and white combinations. It is an atmosphere similar to Greece Santorini. It is already mentioned in SNS such as Instagram and Facebook. It is only 2 years since the building was built, so the resort is clean, the building layout is good,
The Santorini Square on the roof of the lobby makes you feel like you are in another country. The wonderful sculptures are impressive, and if you want to enjoy it properly, it's best to come in spring, summer, and autumn (I came here in the winter, but it was nice and good enough)
The main symbol of the resort here is a sculpture with several bells. With the infinity pool system, you can see that the sculptures are floating in the water and the sky, sea, and sculpture all look like a picture. (I did not see the perfect view of pool because they did not run a pool at the resort in winter)
2. Accommodation
I stayed in Room 627A. Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to those who have booked the resort, and Ocean View rooms are available for an additional 20,000 won more than standard rooms. Also, since room allocation starts from 12:00 pm, it is good to hurry.
All buildings are connected. It is convenient to be able to take a leisure trip regardless of the weather, and to use Santorini Square directly. The walkways are also quite good. The promenade that surrounds the resort is also connected to the coast. It is also convenient to use the beach to remove the sand.
3. Facilities
a) Wi-Fi service: All rooms have separate Wi-Fi service. It is an open type WiFi with no password, and it is a little inconvenient because the service is not stable.b) Amusement space: There is a game room where you can enjoy the latest games. There are billiards and table tennis courts. But the fee is a little expensive.
c) Good & Goods Large Market: It sells various items such as simple food, alcohol, meat, toys, souvenirs, and opens until 12 pm.
D) Aqua World: a large-scale water facility for children rather than adults. There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and hot-water pools are available in winter. The price is as high as 30,000 won.
e) BBQ Chicken & Beer: There is where you can enjoy Korean chicken and beer. Personally, Korean chicken is characterized by crispy tempura, spicy and sweet sauce.
f) Restaurant and bakery cafe: You can see the beach right outside the window and enjoy a cup of coffee (I could not use it but looked far away).
g) 7321 Story: It is a place selling various souvenirs. If you need a travel souvenir or a sudden gift, you need to go there.
h) Many other stores: All of the stores selling accessories, clothes, and Korean specialties are all on the 1st floor. If you need a travel souvenir, visit there.
i) Miniature experience studio: It is good to visit with children. You can make a souvenir directly with my hand.
4. Personal thoughts
It is a popular place for people. The latest resort facilities and favorite spots make your eyes and ears satified due to its beautiful sculptures and environment. Here are some personal thoughts: ① It is difficult to get room that you wand. It is fair to place a room on a first come, first served basis, but on the other hand it is not good. ② It is good for 1 night and 2 days trip, but if you plan to travel for more than 2 nights, you must include a tour of the surrounding tourist areas (It's not fun if you just stay at the resort). ③ The room is hot. It is good to be warm in the cold winter, but I was very hot. Room temperature can not be controlled individually. ④ Room Wi-Fi is inconvenient. It was often disconnected and unstable, so I did not use Wi-Fi.But the beautiful scenery and the high quality facilities were good enough to cover all of these disadvantages.
